We are looking for an amazing Chicago-based home nurse to watch our one-year-old trach/vent daughter, Allie, overnight.
What we want
We are seeking RNs or LPNs who have experience with babies and/or a trach/vent patient (ideally both). We have openings M-Sun from 7 PM-7AM and are flexible about the shift start time and duration (i.e., nurse can arrive anywhere between 7-9 PM to work an 10-12 hr. shift). We'd prefer to work with someone who can work a consistent shift each week (e.g., every M-W).
About Allie
Allie is an extremely easy patient and a very happy girl! She has one bottle by mouth at 7 PM, then goes to bed and sleeps through the night from ~7:30 PM-6:30 AM. All she needs is occasional suctioning and a close eye to make sure she stays connected to her vent throughout the night. She does not get any food or meds overnight and sleeps through the whole shift :)
Allie was a 23-weeker micro preemie and spent 8 months in the Lurie NICU. She has a twin sister, Nicole who also loves to cuddle with Allie's nurses.
About the pay & agency
The rate is $35-40/hr., contracted through our home nursing agency, Maxim. Nurses are vetted, hired and onboarded through Maxim.
About us
We live in downtown Chicago in the Wicker Park area in a duplex-down apartment. We have a mid-sized, very affectionate and friendly dog, Millie.
