We are a family in the Golden​/​Lakewood area seeking LPNs or RNs to care for our ten-year-old daughter for two to three weekday daytime shifts so that she can go to school. One of Emma's current wonderful nurses, who was caring for her Tuesday-Thursday, has had to stop working with Emma for her own personal reasons. Ideally we are looking for nurses to cover daytime shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Thursday, but we are flexible and open to different schedules (8:00-4:30, 8:30– 4:30, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm). Even one additional day of daytime nursing would be helpful. One of Emma's current nurses cares for her every Friday. Emma breathes through a tracheostomy tube and is g-tube dependent and nonambulatory. During the day, she wears an HME -- she does not utilize a ventilator. Emma LOVES going to school (Fletcher Miller), riding the bus, and riding her tricycle. Her favorite activity is listening to music (Frozen's Let it Go is a current favorite) and dancing. She is a smiley, happy kid most all the time. Daytime tasks include two g-tube feeds, administering water through the g-tube, a few medications, and trach suctioning. Emma uses a communication device and has a great sense of humor. Although trach​/​g-tube experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate. Our nursing agency is MGA.
