We have a sweet and easy going girl named Eden who is 7 years old and just started 1st grade! Last but not least, are our dogs Jacy & Hadley. They are black Labrador retrievers and so sweet. They are very well behaved and a big part of the family. Eden was born with Congenital Heart Disease. After 10 months in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU, she came home with a tracheotomy and on a ventilator. She's currently spending all her waking hours off the ventilator when she's healthy. She is also g-tube fed. Eden is a happy, polite and communicative little girl and we are so proud of how far she's come! We keep Eden busy with numerous activities and outings. Walks around the neighborhood are something she often does with the nurse. Time at Eden's art area in the house helping her have some creative time and cooking as a way to help her be around food are also fun activities we do with her. The only things we'd like to avoid are anything near water (baths, swimming pools, etc) as Eden cannot be submerged due to her trach. She enjoys playdates, going to the park/zoo/Cheekwood as well as dance class and any after school clubs she joins. We rely on nurses to assist us with Eden day to day needs and activities, so please reach out if you are interested in caring for Eden in any manner or days/times as we are often looking for other to join Eden's care team!
